Biweekly Update 4/29/2022

So it’s my birthday tomorrow. Going to have a great dinner at my mom’s tonight! Then it’s D&D tomorrow. So that’ll be fun.

Saw The Northman at the theaters. Man, was this movie brutal. A fairly historically accurate depiction of Norse culture and mythology, including their shamanism.

it’s based off the same tale that Shakespeare used for the play Hamlet, believed to be from a lost Icelandic poem written around 1000 AD. Saxo Germannicus recorded it in his book in the 1300s, and that’s what Shakespeare used.

So if you know Hamlet, you get the gist of it. Prince Amleth’s dad is killed, he goes on a quest for vengeance in brutal viking style, and it is a great story.

Good acting, good characters, good sets and costumes. This is a movie worth seeing. More than just some mindless entertainment. I really enjoyed this one.

And speaking of mindless entertainment, I read Fly Me to the Moon Volume 10. This is little romantic comedy/slice of life manga that I fine very cute.

It’s starting to focus on the side characters a bit more, and I’d really like it to progress our main characters marriage a bit more. They’re still very shy as a couple.

I mean, they did get married without knowing each other. Still, I do enjoy this one.

Now High School DxD Light Novel 6 did not disappoint! The story has gotten way past where the manga adapation just abruptly ended. There was some great fan service, including groping multiple girls’ tits in this one.

Asia in danger and at the heart of the story! We even learn what DxD means. Dragon of Dragon, referring to the ultimate dragon of Armageddon. We get more on Asia’s background and the plot to that lead to her death and how our main character derailed it.

Great read. Looking forward to Volume 7. It’s the sort of harem story that I like. I mean, you know it’s not going to do all the sex stuff, but at least our main character is going for it.

He wants to grope all those girls and isn’t a waffling pussy about it.

Triage X 22 brought the action.

This story has gone so far from where it started. It’s deep into the over-the-top Shonen insanity. The plot keeps getting more and more amped and now what started off as a group of medical-themed mercenaries killing despicable criminals is now a zombie apocalypse.

But our main character is a bad ass, there’s so much fan service sicne every other member of the group are all the hot girls you could want. Your favorite waifu type can be found here.

This one had some nice character moments, though, and a major death.

The Devil is a Part Timer Volume 21 is a nice slice-of-life/Reverse Isekai series of Light Novels that has come to an end.

I rather enjoyed the series of a Demon Lord that after getting defeated by the hero, ends up in our world and has to get a job at a parody of McDonalds to survive.

His new goal, build a corporation to dominate earth financially. But the Hero also ended up in this world. There’s a cute high school girl love interest, zany characters, and the adorable Alas Ramuh.

While the actual goal of the later part of the series isn’t really the main focus of the last volume. In fact, they start interweaving flashfowards three years after they win to show where all the characters are at.

That’s what the focus was. And the very last show down between the Demon Lord and the Hero. All in all, it was a nice way to do it. The goal was achieved and we have a nice show of the characters moving forward on Earth.

On the delightful iStripper, there were two delicious shows. We have the delicious Belka in a Velma parody stripping naked! Sbooby Doo! was a hot show. Then we had the naughty Bernie Svintis in Adorable Coquinette!
