Maybe five or so years ago, Amazon changed how many books you can publish at a time to slow the flood of AI and low content books on the KDP store. You went from publishing as much as you want to 3 books a day.

That was fine.

At some point, it became 10 books a week in recent months.

Fine with that. I publish once a day on Amazon between my various pennames and bundling shorts into collections.

This week, they have limited it to 2 ebooks a week, which I have hit before I even knew about the change. I cannot publish anything until Sunday.

I am going to have to change what I do. I probably have to abandon one pen name entirely. No more shorts at $2.99. I’ll probably just release two larger collections a week. It will amount to the same amount of content, but it sucks for series that I am in the middle of posting before the collection.

I don’t normally put this in KU, so I’m not sure what I’ll do about that. Part of me has already wanted to publish more longer stuff, but the short story grind makes that hard. I supposed this is a good chance to pursue that.

This should not affect publishing on other platforms.
