“Her [The Ice Angel] wings, weighted by the heavy ice, could no longer carry her aloft…She went unnoticed by passersby, until, a man saw her predicament. He picked her up and carried her to safety.”
—excerpt from Golden Doll
Liberty is a broken woman. She has just escaped from an abusive relationship, fleeing to California to start a new life. Secluded in her hotel room, Liberty ventures forth onto the internet, hiding behind her supposed anonymity.
But one man she meets pierces through her shell. Calix. He has noticed the heart, broken angel dwelling in her heart, and he wants to rescue her. But some wounds are too great to be easily healed, and Liberty fears giving her heart to another.
She has lost her trust. Is Calix the man to regain it, or will she forever remain clad in ice, unable to fly without falling to the ground again?
Golden Doll is a beautiful story about a scarred woman and the man who loves her. It’s not your typical love story. He wants to be more than her lover. He wants to be her Daddy-dom, wrapping up his little princess and protecting her from the world. He wants her to be free and playful once again, and while Liberty yearns for this, the fear of past wounds holds her back.
This story is superbly written, weaving Calix and Liberty’s stories as their relationship builds, starting out as flirting IM chats and email. Calix is stern and loving. You can feel how much he cares even as he dominates Liberty. This isn’t Fifty Shades of Gray. This is a BDSM relationship where both sides has feelings. If you want to read a passionate, hopeful, stirring tale of love and kinky sex, then you’ll love Golden Doll.
I give it 5 of 5 butterflies! At $2.99, ‘Golden Doll’ will chip the ice from your eReader wings!
I was given an ARC and loved the book so much, I bought it for myself!
