Truth Untold is the first book in the Zane Gordon suspense crime series.
We live in a world where much of the crime we experience and read about is often linked to the production, distribution, and sale of illicit drugs.
And the criminals who operate and rule these mega conglomerates? They are the notoriously violent drug cartels of Mexico and South America.
In this series Special Agent Zane Gordon confronts and does battle with the extremely malevolent operatives of the Quintana Roo in an effort to avenge the heinous crimes carried out against the victims and their families and bring a sense of justice to them all.
A few suspenseful snippets
The wail of police sirens split the air to mute the quiet hiss and crackle of the macabre scene now devoid of all life except for a fire that continued to burn and throw its hellish, pulsating light against the alley walls.

“This is PTSD stuff. Once you see this horror, it gets seared into your consciousness. You live with it for the rest of your life. Sick motherfuckers. You have to be very, very fucked up to be able to do this to someone day in and day out.”

The pungent smell of cordite suffused the air. He grabbed at the back of his head and waited for the pain. Still on his knees, Winston looked up and stared in shock. The unburnt vapors from the nitrocellulose propellant curled upwards from the residual hot gases that enveloped the Sig Sauer 9mm muzzle.

As the words of her bald surrender washed him free of the chaos and doubt that had wasted him, the savagery that had assaulted his senses hours before began to stir and claw its way out of his blackened heart. Zane let go and lost himself, willingly, in Claire’s selfless embrace.

John staggered out on rubber legs. He was in shock, completely unhinged by the sheer monstrosity of what he had witnessed. Like a moth to a flame, he had stepped from the shadows and walked into the open, morbidly transfixed by the fulgent glow of the corpse as it broke apart into cinders.
The violent echo of, “Mátalo!” slammed home, dumping an overdose of adrenaline into his system to trigger the fight or flight response.
“Kill him!”
RUN!
He bolted towards the Jeep.
His mind was screaming.
The Keys! Don’t drop the fucking keys!
DUCK! GO! GO!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Rounds found their mark as they started impacting into the door frame.
“FUCK! GO!”
Ragged breaths choked by sheer terror rattled out of his throat as he punched down on the accelerator.
“C’MON, you piece of shit! GO!”
Screeching tires ripped open another seam of terror. They were onto him and gaining.
“FUCK! PUNCH IT! I’m gonna fucking die today,” he screamed as the Jeep slid sideways around a corner.
His cell vibrated in his pocket. Recognizing the ringtone, he pushed the speaker phone and screamed into it.
“I’m being chased! They killed Uncle Frank!” He choked off the words, “They’re onto me …” The cell slipped from his sweaty hand and disappeared between the seat and the console.
“Fuck!! Dad!”
“John! Where are you? What’s happening?”
Blinded by fear and the glare of oncoming headlights, John pounded on the steering wheel, cursing himself as he ploughed through traffic at breakneck speed. A new and deadly element broke open from above as a glut of rain suddenly thundered onto the windshield. Sheets of water tore across his field of vision blurring the landscape into a watery nightmare. His escape route became submerged.
“Oh, no … no, no. Why me? Oh, Jesus …”
His cell crackled from somewhere. “John? John? Can you hear me? Can you talk, John? Are you alright?”
“I can’t talk! I’m being shot at. They’re trying to kill me! I gotta go, Dad.”
He raged at the top of his lungs to no one. His ordered world had suddenly come undone in a split second. Now, caught out and unprepared, he would be pushed to the limit in a race for his own survival.
For them, killing him was just getting rid of a minor distraction—swatting a gnat—an insignificant pest that had flown through an opening. If they caught him, his life would be crushed out. He knew they would leave no one alive who could bear witness to the execution.
