Rachel Wainwright is the unwitting host for the succubus Althea. The successful attorney and mother of a son and daughter, is feeling all manner of new desires bursting through her. As she’s eager to reconnect with her ex-husband Josh, she finds herself thinking about her son and the sexy, Latina maid.

Her own children are feeling their own urges, her daughter craving to take her father as a lover, and the son yearning for a submissive to dominate. Day by day, the succubus’s prodding bring them closer and closer to crossing lines and enjoying themselves.

What will happen when Josh returns to his family? Will he and his wife rekindle their love? Will he succumb to his daughter’s affections?

The Devil’s Plaything continues the story of the succubus Althea as she seeks to make Rachel into a proper host. This story sets up more things to come, including an adversary that will be causing problems down the road. And while the sex scene that caps off the story is hot, there are several almost moments of passion, teasing you with their erotic potential, that get interrupted before anything naughty can start.

There are taboo lines Alana Church is teasing us with, and her characters are just toeing them, but haven’t crossed. Yet. But the story promises to get even hotter as it marches forward, and I’m hoping Church delivers on what she’s teasing.

But if you enjoyed Idle Hands, the first part, this story carries you along and leaves you hungry to read more about the world of Althea and what is coming in the lives of the Wainwright family!
